Beltane Ritual

HP: All ears hear!
The circle is about to be cast, let none be present but of their own free will!
Be it known that we are in the presence of the Goddess.

Let us call forth the elementals
(ring bell)
By Daylight, starlight, shadow and sun
We call forth the guardians to protect all as one

Power of air, attend to me, No evil in thy presence be
Empower this celebration I ask of thee
As I do will, so mote it be

O creature of fire, this charge I lay, No phantasm in thy presence stay
Not in complete accord with me
As I do will, so mote it be

Water fresh, where thou art cast, No spell or adverse purpose last
Not in complete accord with me
As I do will, so mote it be

And as we worship at thy altar, Earths protection shall not falter
In the holy and most sacred names of Karnayna and Aradia

HP: (ring bell)
This Beltane Day we gather here
To celebrate in love, and peace, not fear
As summer draws nigh and the light surrounds
The Wheel of Life keeps turning around
This day we move, further into the light
And we bathe as one, in your glorious light
(light torches)

HP: I bless You this besom that it may aid
The energy flow as magick is made.
I cast out negative energy
Leaving only the positive to live and breathe
Within it as I start this Rite.
Blessed be in joy, love and light.

Blessed Be, O Creature of Light
Tool of magick with power and might.

HPS RITUAL SWEEP WITH BESOM (going widdershins inside the circle)
HPS: Witch's Broom, swift in flight, Cast Out Darkness, Bring in Light.
Earth be hallow; Air be clear; Fire burns as water heals.
A sacred bridge this site shall be, as my will, so mote it be.

CALLING THE QUARTERS
Winds of the East
Come to me now, O winds of the East
Whirl and twirl 'til magick has ceased.
Blow through my mind and the energy raise
Blow away clouds and blow away haze.
The Circle is opened--your power please lend
Your presence is welcomed--I bid you come in.
(throw incense on charcoal)

Fire of the South
Come to me now, O Southerly fires!
Warm light, pure strength--add flame to desires,
Cleanse and purify all actions mundane
Protect well this Circle with your pure light and flame.
The Circle is opened--your power please lend
Your presence is welcomed--I bid you come in.
(throw incense on charcoal)

Waters of the West
Come now, O waters of the Western port!
Tides rise and fall, and all harm abort.
Wash away troubles and rinse away pain
Wash over my spirit with your oceans and rain.
The Circle is opened--your power please lend
Your presence is welcomed--I bid you come in.
(throw incense on charcoal)

Earth of the North
Come, Earthly power to me from the North!
Lend your strength and stability--give me your support
As your soil is fertile, this Circle shall be
Nourish all works, as you nourish the tree.
The Circle is opened--your power please lend
Your presence is welcomed--I bid you come in.
(throw incense on charcoal)

SEALING THE CIRCLE (an invoking pentagram is made in the air over the altar)
HP: The Circle is sealed and we are
completely cut off from the outside world
so that we may give honour to the Goddess and the God,
on this their special night.

LIGHTING THE TRIPLE GODDESS CANDLES
HP: Three Candles I do Light
In Honour of Thee, O Goddess, this sacred Night.
White for the Maiden pure as Snow,
Red for the Mother full within, and
Black for the Crone, old and wise.

LIGHTING THE TRIPLE GOD CANDLES
HP: Three Candles I do Light
In Honour of Thee, My Lord, this sacred Night.
Green for the God from the forest glade,
Red for the Hunter with power so great, and
Black for He whom from all power flows

ALL CIRCLE (DEOSIL) WHILE CHANTING:
ALL: By the flame that burneth bright, O' Horned One!
We call they name into the night, O' Ancient One!
Thee we invoke, by the moon-led sea, By the standing stone and the twisted tree.
Thee we invoke where gather thine own, By the nameless shrine forgotten and lone.
Come where the round of the dance is trod, Horn and hoof of the goat foot god!
By moonlit meadow, on dusky hill, When the haunted wood is hushed and still,
Come to the charm of the chanted prayer, As the moon bewitches the beltane air.
Evoke thy powers, that potent bide, In shining stream and the secret tide.
In fiery flame by starlight pale, In shadowy host that rides the gale,
And by the fern-brakes, fairy-haunted, Of forests wild and woods enchanted.
Come! Come! To the heart-beats drum!
Come! Come! To the heart-beats drum!

Come to us who gather below
When the broad white moon is climbing slow
Through the stars to the heaven's height We hear thy hoofs on the wind of night!
As black tree-branches shake and sigh, By joy and terror we know thee nigh.
We speak the spell they power unlocks, At Solstice, Sabbat and equinox

HP: I invoke thee and call upon thee, Mighty Mother of us all, bringer of all fruitfulness;
by seed and root, by bud and stem, by leaf and flower and fruit,
by life and love do I invoke thee to descend upon the body of this thy servant.

DRAWING DOWN THE MOON- INVOCATION TO THE GODDESS
HPS: I call upon She who unveils the mystery,
She who reigns as darkness falls upon the unlit sky;
Queen of Heaven, Earth and the Underworld.
Diana, this is your time, Eternal Goddess, Huntress of the Night.
We have prepared this sacred Circle for you, O Beauteous One,
Come now into us,
Fill us with your presence
O gracious Queen of Witches
As we do perform this Rite in your honour.

INVOCATION TO THE GOD
HP: Great God Cernunnos, return to Earth again!
Come to my call and show thy self to men.
Shepherd of Goats, upon the wild hill's way,
Lead thy lost flocks from darkness unto day.
Forgotten are the ways of sleep and night
Men seek for them, whose eyes have lost the light.
Open the door of dreams, whereby man come to thee.
Shepherd of Goats, O answer unto me!

HP & HPS: Diana of the rounded moon, The Queen of all enchantments here,
The wind is crying through the trees, And we invoke thee to appear.
The cares of day departed are, The realm of might belongs to thee;
And we in love and kinship join With all things wild and free.
As powers of magic round us move, Now let time's self dissolve and fade.
Here in the place between the worlds May we be one with nature made.
Thy consort is the Horned One, Whose sevenfold pipes make music sweet.
Old Gods of life and love and light, Be here as merrily we meet!
For ye the circle's round we tread, And unto ye the wine we pour;
The sacred Old Ones of this land, Ye we invoke by ancient lore
By magic moon and pagan spell, By all the secrets of the night,
Dreams and desires and mystery, Borne on the moonbeams' silver light.
Now may we hear, or may we see, Or may we know within the heart,
A token of true magic made, Ere from this circle we depart."
