Description

Vulcanalia was a festival in ancient Rome held on August 23 each year in honour of the Roman god Vulcan. During the festival bonfires were created in honour of the god, where fish were sacrificed. It was also customary to make crafts by candlelight in his honour, as Vulcan was the god of fire, tools, and smithing.
